Medical and Diagnostic Centers

Employees of clinical departments of ZSMPhU successfully work in 11 interregional and regional specialized medical centers.

In 2019, the Center for Surgical Arthrology and Sports Injuries, coordinated by the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics, consulted 2,868 patients, performed 889 surgeries, including 331 arthroplasties of large joints (234 — hip, 97 — knee), 403 arthroscopies. 155 endoprostheses (18 — knee, 137 — hip) were installed at the expense of the budget.

In the Center for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, the staff of the Department of Hospital Surgery of ZSMPhU consulted 4,903 patients, operated on 223 patients, performed 33 manipulations.

In the Regional Endoscopy Center, the staff of the Department of Hospital Surgery consulted 960 patients, performed 81 endoscopic operations and 147 endoscopic manipulations.

In the Center for Gastrointestinal Bleeding, the staff of the Department of General Surgery and Postgraduate Surgical Education provided highly qualified medical care to 481 patients, 80 of whom underwent surgery.

In the Surgical Hepatological Center the staff of the Department of Faculty Surgery consulted 4,871 patients with diseases of the liver, biliary system and pancreas, operated on 987 patients, in addition, performed 1,430 minimally invasive surgical interventions (laparoscopic, endoscopic interventions and interventional ultrasounds).

In the Center for Pediatric Urology, the staff of the Department of Pediatric Surgery and Anesthesiology treated 715 patients, performed 486 operations for various defects of the kidneys and urinary tract, 62 — endoscopic ones.

Almost 1,600 patients were treated in the Angioneurological Center by the staff of the Department of Nervous Diseases.

In the Children's Allergology Center, the staff of the Department of Faculty Pediatrics consulted 1,856 children, including 227 at the University Clinic, examined by ultrasound and spirography 1,530 children, treated in the Allergology Department 761 children.

In the Regional Center for Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention of Gastrointestinal Diseases, the staff of the Department of Internal Diseases No. 3 treated 1,214 patients.

In the Regional Center of Allergology and Clinical Immunology, the staff of the Department of Internal Diseases No. 3 examined and treated 504 patients, including 158 patients with immunopathology.

In the Center for IVF and Medical Genetic Screening, the staff of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine of the FPE conducted 22,137 consultations, treated 23,346 patients with various forms of infertility and other reproductive health disorders. 746 endoscopic operations were performed (164 laparoscopies, 582 hysteroscopies). Thanks to the modern equipment of the Laboratory of Medical and Genetic Counseling and Reproductive Correction, 273 IVF cycles were performed. The laboratory fills the embryo cryobank, which significantly increases women's chances of pregnancy. Improvement of ovulation stimulation schemes in IVF cycles is carried out on the basis of improvement of risk groups for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and resistant ovary syndrome, as well as introduction of treatment with innovative drugs, which allowed achieving biochemistry pregnancy in 44.3% of patients in IVF cycles, in 50.7% of patients — in cryocycles. The staff of the Department provides highly qualified andrological care with the use of conservative and surgical methods of treatment; as a result the restoration rate of male fertility is 61.4%.

Since the beginning of 2018, the Surgical Clinic of ZSMPhU and ZMAPE, headed by Professor Oleksandr Nikonenko, Academician of the NAMS of Ukraine, has been successfully operating on the basis of Zaporizhzhia Regional Clinical Hospital.
