A meeting of the Central Methodical Council (CMC) of Zaporizhzhia State Medical and Pharmaceutical University was held in the online mode via the MS Teams, headed by Associate Professor Svitlana Morhuntsova, the Pro-rector for scientific, pedagogical, educational work and education quality.
The first issue of the agenda was the preparation for the assessment and examination session of the spring semester and approval of materials for it. Deans of all faculties and Acting Director of Educational and Scientific Institute of Postgraduate Education focused in detail on the structure of final tests and state attestation, as well as students’ preparation of qualifying master’s theses. This is important to ensure full observance of the principles of academic integrity, objectivity, exclusion of corruption risks, transparency, unity of approaches to the assessment of knowledge and skills during the finals in the conditions of martial law. The heads of the CMC presented the information on the approved materials for the session (test bases, multi-level tasks, etc.) to the public.
Vadym Dmitriiev, the Head of the Center for Distance Education and Telemedicine, and Education Quality, reported on the state of monitoring of the educational process at the university's departments, in particular, focusing on one of the main principles of educational activity of ZSMPhU — improving the quality of educational services based on constant monitoring and control of the systematicity of educational activities and the implementation of the schedule of the educational process by students of the higher education institution. This is achieved by coordinating the joint work in this direction of the Center, educational and educational-methodical departments, deaneries and departments of the university, which ensure the training of future specialists.
Professor Oleksii Ryzhov, the Head of the Department of Medical and Pharmaceutical Informatics and Advanced Technologies, gave a report on the methodical aspects of the implementation of information technologies into the educational process at the departments and measures to improve it. The speaker noted that to ensure the implementation of educational goals, all university departments use a wide range of services available on the Microsoft 365 platform, namely MS Forms, ClassNotes, Assignments, Insights, Kahoot, ClassPoint, Sway. This indicates a high level of awareness of the teaching staff in distance learning technologies. Also, the Administration of the university pays special attention to the use of simulation learning technologies and 3D virtual reality systems in the educational process. The university constantly conducts training on improving the quality of mastery of computer technologies, and the organization of distance learning of students.
Associate Professor Svitlana Morhuntsova, the Pro-rector for scientific, pedagogical, educational work and education quality, emphasized the need to involve all departments and structural units in conducting career guidance work, which will help to form a contingent of applicants.
At the end of the meeting, as usual, the meeting participants listened to Associate Professor Yurii Hanoshenko, the Deputy Head of the Council for Educational and Methodical Support and Advanced Training of Lecturers, who provided the information regarding the educational and methodical materials of the departments submitted to the CMC and approved them.
