Participation of ZSMU in the kick-off meeting of the partners of ePBLNet project (TEMPUS)
28-29 of January, 2013 the representatives of ZSMU took part in the first meeting of partner universities in the frames of realization of the international educational project № 530519-Tempus-1-2012-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPCR “Establishment of the Supra-Regional Network of the National Centers in Medical Education, focused on PBL and Virtual Patients” in Thessaloniki (Greece).
The main principles of PBL technology were discussed during the meeting, as well as its innovation and good experience of St. George University of London (Great Britain) and the University of Nicosia, (Cyprus)
One of the important issues discussed was structure of PBL process, its difference from the traditional structure namely system oriented curriculum, structure of training week based on learning of a certain case (patient history), the ratio between instructor led and extracurricular students work, lectures load and obtaining of practical skills).
During the meeting the ZSMU team participated in the interactive training workshop on transformation of the traditional curriculum to problem-oriented one. Then the difficulties of the project and possible solutions were discussed according to the results of training.
Based on the results of the meeting the main duties were shared between the Universities (partners of the project), the leader universities in certain fields of activities in the frames of the project were chosen, a plan of further activities and communications between MECs. Being one of the leader universities in the development and implementation of innovative technologies, ZSMU became responsible for the creation of a plan of e-library.
As a result of business trip the interrelations between ZSMU and Partner-Universities were established.
