Historical Reference

The Department was established on January 1, 2019 on the basis of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine with Patients' Care of ZSMU, which was founded in July 1966. It was joined by employees of the courses of Radiation Diagnostics and Therapy of ZSMU. Since then, the Department is headed by Professor Vitalii Syvolap.

Original lectures are given exclusively with the use of multimedia technologies.

The Department has issued methodical recommendations for practical classes in all disciplines for medical students, as well as medical histories and textbooks for practical classes.

 

Scientific Directions and Achievements

The research directions of the Department include cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, allergology, neurology, radiology, radiation medicine and radiation diagnostics.

The Department actively studies the issues of vascular and cardiac remodeling in patients with hypertension, coronary artery disease, platelet homeostasis in pathology of internal organs (pneumonia, hypertension, ischemic brain injury).

Teachers of the Department published monographs, received 18 patents for utility models, 6 innovations, published more than 590 articles.

The Department trains: masters, clinical residents, interns, cadets of primary specialization and thematic improvement, as well as postgraduate PhD students.

 

Cooperation with Other Institutions
