Historical Reference

The Department was founded in 1959.

Since 2011, the Department is headed by Professor Svitlana Vasiuk. For professionals training, the Department provides Master and postgraduate studies.

 

Educational Disciplines

  • Analytical Chemistry is studied by second-year students majoring in "Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy" (full-time and part-time), second-year students majoring in "Technology of Perfume-Cosmetic Preparations" (full-time and part-time) and second-year students majoring in "Technologies Medical Diagnostics and Treatment".
  • Medical Chemistry is studied by foreign English-speaking first-year students in the specialty "Medicine".
  • Basics of Chemical Metrology (elective course) is studied by second-year students majoring in "Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy" (full-time and part-time) and second-year students majoring in "Technology of Perfume-Cosmetic Preparations" (part-time).
  • Modern Analytical Laboratory Practice (elective course) is studied by second-year students majoring in "Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy" (full-time and part-time) and second-year students majoring in "Technology of Perfume-Cosmetic Preparations" (full-time and part-time).
  • Quality Control of Food and Food Additives (elective course) is studied by fifth-year students majoring in "Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy" (part-time).

Department of Analytical Chemistry

 

Educational and Methodical Work

Training of students at the Department is carried out according to the methodical and informational organization of the educational process with elements of independent work. For the KROK-1 exam, a bank of test tasks, having more than 600 tests, has been created.

According to the curriculum, an approximate study program in Analytical Chemistry for the specialty "Pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy" has been created. Original lectures are given exclusively with the use of multimedia technologies. Educational and methodical manuals for practical classes on all topics have been published.

 

Scientific Directions and Achievements

Development of new methods of drug analysis.

During the existence of the Department 4 doctoral and 26 candidate dissertations have been defended.

Lecturers of the Department received 137 copyright certificates and 36 patents for utility models, published more than 400 articles.

 

Cooperation with Other Institutions

The Department maintains close scientific ties with universities: Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education (Kyiv), National University of Pharmacy (Kharkiv), Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University (Lviv), I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University.

 

Advisory Activities

Advisory work is performed on the basis of analytical laboratories of the state inspections for quality control of medicines of Ukraine.
