Graduate Attestation: Obstetrics and Gynecology

Examination session at the ZSMU is running. Today the third final certification exam - on discipline "Obstetrics and gynecology" - made 472 six-year students of I medical faculty and 103 future pediatricians of II medical faculty. In total, 575 students have contacted the university. The knowledge of the important medical field was demonstrated by future general practitioners - family medicine, who will use them in practical work, because their patients will certainly be women and gynecological problems.

During three weeks the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of ZSMU prepared in three versions of the task for five stations, one of which was chosen by drawing of lots. Traditionally, this clearly worked out procedure was performed in the presence of the examination commission members by its chairman, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vitaliy Sivolap.

"Usually our final exam was held in the format of objective structured clinical assessment of students' knowledge, communicating live with them, testing their practical skills on phantoms and simulations, - said the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of ZSMU, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Yuri Krut. - This, of course, made it possible to see more effectively how they mastered the discipline, especially how they could apply what they learned in practice. However, now the testing tasks are composed in such a way that even with such remote format the situation is quite full.

At all five stations during one hour, students are required to answer a question on emergency conditions, perform test assignments in CROC format, and demonstrate awareness of oncogynecology and reproductive health issues. The fifth and last station contains a question on obstetrics and gynecology, not related to emergency conditions, and pediatricians have this task with pediatric gynecology - they, together with our department, were prepared by teachers of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine of the ZSMU".

Yuri Yakovlevich believes that students have sufficient preparation in the discipline, because they studied test assignments throughout the quarantine period. A head of six-year students of I and II medical faculties there are two more exams, as well as an equally important test - passing the license exam "KROK - 2. General medical preparation" live, within the walls of the home university.
