Pass-failure exams for students and new knowledge for doctors

About 60 family physicians of primary care health centers of Zaporizhzhia joined to online-conference of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Medicine of The Faculty of Post-graduate Education for e-discussion of interesting professional topics. The workers of the department organized the online-scientific conference “Actual issues of reproductive health”. Practice doctors have missed new medical knowledge in the professional field that this department usually shared via online-translations and other e-technologies. That is why scientists from the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Medicine prepared interesting information in their professional field.

The Head of the department, professor Nataliya Avramenko who presented two reports to colleagues. The first report was about opportunities to provide highly specialized free medical care according to the Medical Guarantee Program. The second report was about Birth of a healthy baby and joint work of a family doctor and reproductive specialists.

The participants of the conference also enjoyed the report of The Associate Professor of the Department Oleh Nykyforov about The role of family physicians in the formation of reproductive health of boys and teenagers. The Assistant of the Department, Oksana Suhonos told about features of chromosomal and hereditary pathology in the practice of a family doctor and indications for genetic counseling based on medical workers of communal non-profit enterprise Regional Medical Center for Human Reproduction of Zaporizhzhia.

The participants at the conference were very active. The family physicians asked a lot of questions. Specialists of medical institutions are always very interested in the achievements of their colleagues of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Medicine of The Faculty of Post-graduate Education. Many of our colleagues from different workplaces have seen the level of professionalism of our workers and the level of equipment used in the Department.

Citizens of Zaporizhzhia can be treated with the best modern world technologies on the base of non-profit enterprise Regional Medical Center for Human Reproduction of Zaporizhzhia thanks to the equipment bought by Zaporizhzhia State Medical University.

The organizers of the event plan to organize the same online-conference for Family Physicians of hospitals of the Zaporizhzhia region. The e studying is a usual thing for workers in the department. Specialists of the modern medical centers can consult patients and organize videoconferences for medical workers of the Zaporizhzhia region.

All students and interns could watch the most interesting moments of surgeries before the quarantine thanks to the new equipment in surgery rooms and study rooms. Now they can watch it in e-format. That is why quarantine hasn’t affected the quality of students’ education.

Professor Natalia Avramenko of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Medicine of The Faculty of Post-graduate Education said that the studying process is running fully according to the academic in Microsoft Teams Platform. The workers of the department treat students very kindly and with big respect.

Professors Natalia Avramenko and Dmytro Barkovsky together with their colleagues conducted lectures according to the timetable. Highly Qualified teachers of the Department: Oleh Nikiforov, Olena Kabachenko, Iryna Hridina, Oksana Sukhonos, Maryna Razyhrayeva, Viktoriya Postolenko, Tetyana Hubka. Ph.D. candidates Ilona Semenenko and Denys Letsyn conducted practice classes.

Students prepared reports and presentations to every class. They also pass e-testing after every class. Ukrainian and foreign students of 4th-year already passed pass-failure exams in medical genetics. Students of pediatric of the sixth year have passed the pass-failure exam in Gynecology. Students passed online-testing and oral interviews on topics. The results were a very positive one. Both Ukrainian and foreign students have good academic performance.
