Professional dialogue is a step to job employment

Professional dialogue is a step to job employment

We are putting a big effort to develop our new specialization Physical and Occupational therapy. Each year more and more students choose this specialization. Although it is already quite popular in Europe, it is still on a development stage in Ukraine. An occupational therapist is an on-fire specialty in the whole world and Ukraine as well. Nowadays the philosophy of rehabilitation treatment in Ukraine is changing, so such specialists will have more and more opportunities for great professional realization and career.

However, not all students understand the well professional routine of such specialists, when they choose occupational therapy. The Administration of ZSMU, The Department of Physical Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine, Physical Education, and Health want to prepare students for successful job employment. They do a lot of work and activities for that. For example, they started to invite potential employers for “professional dialogues”.

Several “potential employers “had already come tp speak with students. Tetiana Yarmoshuk who is an honored doctor of Ukraine, The Head of The Hospital of veterans of war talked with 3-nd year students. Olena Lebedeva, The Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional orphanage “Sonechko” talked with 2nd-year students about the role of occupational therapists in the rehabilitation of children. The Head Doctor of the Zaporizhzhia Orphanage of Zaporizhzhia Regional Council Ludmyla Goncharenko told first-year students how much she needs good occupational therapists at the Orphanage.

Employers honestly told about the specifics of work at their institutions, stressed that students chose very promising specialization, answered students’ questions, offered students a part-time job.

These meetings were very productive. So we will continue to organize them.
