Weight loss help to lower the risk of cancer developing

Scientists of the American Cancer Society concluded that weight loss help to lower the risk of breast cancer developing.

Previously they found out that overweight influences oncology development. So it was decided to conduct one more researching to see will the risk of oncology reduce, if a person loses some weight. And if it is, how much the showing will change.

They analyzed data of 180 thousand women aged 50 years and older. Within ten years, their weight was fixed three times: at the beginning, after five and after nine years. Results showed, the more patient slim, the more risk of oncology reduces. Patients, who were already at the risk group, fell down the risk of oncology after the experiment.

Leading scientist of the experiment, Loren Teras said,” Our results show that even moderate weight loss help to lessen the risk of breast cancer developing at women aged 50 years and older.”

The experiment showed that women who lost from two to 4 kg. reduce it at 13 %.

Women who lost from four and a half to nine kilograms lower the risk at 16 %.

Few ones who lost more than nine kilograms lessen the risk at 26 %.

Even those who put on weight after slimming reduce the risk of breast cancer developing in comparison to participants who didn’t lose weight at all.
