Foreign Students' Efforts Getting Noticed

The Department of Foreign Languages of ZSMU has a good tradition to reward the most active and creative foreign students, willingly participating in scientific, cultural and artistic activities during the initial year. Despite the fact that the first year of study at Zaporizhzhia State Medical University was quite tense, filled with daily work, tests and exams, most foreign students gladly participated in different events.

To adapt foreigners to Ukrainian culture and everyday life to the full, the department involved them to participation in scientific and practical conferences, round tables on "English language: way of thinking, professional communication and dialogue of cultures", creative translation contest, Christmas charity fair, І-ІІ stages of the All-Ukrainian Student Olympiad in Latin and Medical Terminology and many others.

During the academic year, there were thirteen most active foreign students. They are representatives of Ecuador, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Cameroon, Tunisia and Morocco. As such, the staff of the Department of Foreign Languages, headed by Associate Professor Olena Hordiienko, organized a solemn rewarding ceremony, which was attended by Associate Professor Serhii Chugin, the Deputy Dean of the International Faculty No. 2. All foreign students received gratitude certificates, signed by Professor Yurii Kolesnyk, the Rector of the Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, with wishes for further success in studies and scientific, cultural and artistic events.
