Temporary metal implants for traumatology that dissolve in the patient's body by ZSMU and PJSC "Motor-Sich"
Zaporizhzhia State Medical University and PJSC Motor-Sich signed a four-year agreement on the development, manufacture, and pre-clinical testing of magnesium alloy structures "MS-10" for traumatology.
The network of modern certified scientific laboratories created at the university allows conducting detailed and multi-vector studies of the biological properties of magnesium-containing alloys. Such alloys can spontaneously and gradually dissolve in the body. The laboratories equipment also allows the safety of the substance for experimental animals and patients.
The agreement also provides pre-clinical testing of magnesium-containing alloy structures/implants designed for use in traumatology at the university. The practical application of such temporary structures eliminates the need for repeated surgical interventions after bone fusion to remove metal implants. This property is of great humanitarian and social importance for children and adults.
