Today at an extended meeting of the Academic Council of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University, held online in the MS Teams, its participants discussed a number of important issues that will affect the further development of departments, quality of the educational process and strengthening human resources ZSMU.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Yuriy Kolesnyk, Rector of the University, from the multi-purpose educational and research center with a library, and all members of the council joined the meeting directly from their workplaces.
Elina Kotliarevska, Director of the University Clinic of ZSMU, reported in detail on the medical, scientific and methodological work of the unit, which successfully combines educational, scientific and medical work, making extensive use of the latest medical technologies. Only this year a new Department of Minimally Invasive Surgical and Endoscopic Interventions was created, innovative methods of plastic surgery and treatment of varicose veins of the lower extremities were introduced. In the fall, a Department of Multimodal Pathology with dermatological beds was established. The clinic responded promptly to the demand of time by introducing ELISA testing of IgG and IgM for the SARS-COVID-19 virus in blood plasma.
Powerful material base, highly qualified specialists, access to advanced medical technologies and the latest achievements of medical science provide the Clinic with the recognition of patients not only in Zaporizhzhia and the oblast.
Professor Vadym Vizir, Pro-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, in his report made a comprehensive analysis of the state of scientific, teaching and educational work of the surgical departments, noting the high human potential: the educational process is provided by 126 employees, including 22 doctors and 74 candidates of sciences, which is 76.2% of the total number of lecturers, which is higher than the University average.
For the first time, members of the Academic Council voted online for election to vacant positions and academic titles. For this purpose the specialists of the Computer Technology Center of the University introduced an anonymous voting system based on the ZSMU e-mail server.
The Academic Council considered a number of current issues.
The decisions made can be found in the section "Materials of the meetings of the Academic Council of ZSMU".
