ZSMU Scientists Consult City Hospitals

At the request of the city authorities, Zaporizhzhia State Medical University has formed advisory teams of leading scientists to provide consultative support to hospital physicians in particularly severe cases of the Coronavirus infection and its complications.

The doctors of the City Hospital No. 1 will be consulted by Kyrylo Kalashnyk (infectious diseases doctor, Assistant at the Department of Infectious Diseases), Nataliia Skliarova (cardiologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Assistant at the Department of Internal Diseases No. 3), Roman Yasinskyi (pulmonologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Phthisiology and Pulmonology) and Kostiantyn Boiko (anesthesiologist, Associate Professor of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care).

Consultative support to the specialists of the City Clinical Hospital No. 2 will be provided by Professor Olena Riabokon (infectious diseases doctor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Infectious Diseases), Professor Serhii Dotsenko (pulmonologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Internal Diseases 3), Maryna Shevchenko (cardiologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Internal Diseases 3) and Olesia Boitsova (anesthesiologist, Assistant of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care).

In their turn, the physicians of the City Clinical Hospital No. 6 will be assisted by Denys Zadyraka (infectious diseases doctor, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases), Professor Vitalii Syvolap (physician, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Head of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine, Radiation Diagnostics and Radiation Therapy), Іvetta Lykhasenko (pulmonologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine, Radiation Diagnostics and Radiation Therapy), Nataliia Avramenko (cardiologist, Assistant at the Department of Propaedeutics of Internal Medicine, Radiation Diagnostics and Radiation Therapy) and Serhii Hryhoriev (anesthesiologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Assistant at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care).

City Hospital No. 7 will have the support of Olena Furyk (infectious diseases doctor, Associate Professor of the Department of Infectious Diseases), Associate Professor Oleksandr Demidenko (physician, Head of the Department of Internal Diseases 2), Anton Sadomov (pulmonologist, Associate Professor of the Department of Internal Diseases 2), Serhii Gorbachov, (anesthesiologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Assistant at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care).

Regarding City Multipurpose Clinical Children's Hospital No. 5, there consultative support will be provided by Yelizaveta Silina (pediatric infectious diseases doctor, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Assistant at the Department of Children Infectious Diseases), Anna Davydova (pediatric anesthesiologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Assistant at the Department of Faculty Pediatrics), Tetiana Herasymchuk (pediatrician, Assistant at the Department of Faculty Pediatrics) and Olena Podlianova (pediatric cardiologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Faculty Pediatrics).

In addition to highly qualified care provided by leading scientists of the University, city hospitals received significant assistance at the level of secondary and junior medical staff — more than 135 students of different courses volunteered to work as nurses and paramedics in medical institutions of Zaporizhzhia.
