The Academic Council of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University organized a secret ballot in the lobby of the Sports Facility of ZSMU to elect its Head and First Deputy. The day before, the Counting Commission prepared everything necessary for the election process: provided lists of electors, produced ballots, and prepared a ballot box.
For four hours, 88 members of the Academic Council of ZSMU (88.9% of total) took part in the secret ballot. Of course, it was held in compliance with all anti-epidemic safety measures.
At 1 p.m., the online meeting of the Academic Council continued. Professor Vira Odyntsova, Chairman of the Counting Commission, announced the results of the voting. 87 voters voted for Professor Yurii Kolesnyk, Rector of ZSMU, as the candidate for the position of the Head of the Academic Council. The candidate himself, in accordance with the requirements of anti-corruption legislation, did not participate in the voting. 87 voters voted for Associate Professor Mykola Avramenko, First Pro-rector, as the candidate for the position of the First Deputy Head of the Academic Council. The candidate himself did not participate in the voting either.
Professor Valerii Tumanskyi, Pro-rector for scientific work, acquainted the participants of the meeting with the decisions of the Accreditation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science on the award of academic titles and degrees, and informed about the dissertations confirmation process. The Academic Council considered a number of other issues and completed its online work.
