Dean Election at Medical Faculty No. 2

On September 16, ZSMU hosted a meeting of the staff of the Medical Faculty No. 2, which contemplated the election of the Dean of the Faculty.

According to the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”, all categories of faculty employees were represented at the meeting in proportion to the quotas set by law: out of 157 people, who are members of the faculty self-government body, 121 are scientific and pedagogical workers, 13 workers of other categories and 23 student representatives.

Associate Professor Yurii Polkovnykov, candidate for the position of the Dean of the Faculty, presented to the meeting a report for the previous period of activity, as well as the development strategy of the Medical Faculty No. 2 for the next term. Professor Svitlana Nedielska, Associate Professor Serhii Pavlov, Associate Professor Olha Fedoseieva gave their assessment to the candidate.

The secret ballot procedure was organized on September 17 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Sports Facility in compliance with all anti-epidemic security measures.

The meeting of the staff of the Medical Faculty No. 2 resumed, and Assistant Oleh Kuchkovskyi, the chairman of the Сounting Сommission, announced the results of the secret ballot: out of 157 delegates of the meeting, 132 (84.1%) took part in the voting. The candidacy of Associate Professor Yurii Polkovnikov for the position of the Dean of the Medical Faculty No. 2 was supported by 130 delegates, 2 of them were against.

Following a secret ballot, the meeting decided to approve the Rector's appointment of Associate Professor Yurii Polkovnikov to the position of the Dean of the Medical Faculty No. 2.
